Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, camera

So the new Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is finally out

They just showed it off at that Unpacked event.
Honestly, it’s their big new phone.
It’s got a bunch of updates… design, speed, and the camera.
and more AI stuff because why not?

It might not look like a huge jump from before,
but it feels way more polished.
like, they really just made the hardware better and added some cool software tricks…

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra In-Hand Feel

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra

So, the first thing you really notice about the S26 Ultra is just how it feels when you’re actually holding it. Samsung trimmed it down to like 7.99mm, so it feels way thinner than the last one. It’s not nearly as chunky as it used to be.

Even though it’s got this massive screen and feels really high-end, it’s actually pretty comfy to hold. They dropped the weight a little bit too, which makes it way easier to use for a long time without your hand getting tired or anything.

They finally rounded off those sharp corners. The old Ultras were so boxy, but the S26 has these smoother curves now. And yeah, the S Pen is still tucked inside… glad they kept that for all the work stuff. It’s just classic Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Display

The screen is probably the biggest thing about this phone. It’s a 6.9-inch AMOLED and honestly… It’s just beautiful. The brightness is crazy. It hits 2600 nits, so you can actually see what’s on the screen even when the sun is super bright outside.

They’re using this new M14 panel now. It makes the colors look better, and it’s more efficient too, which is a win. Plus, they finally brought in that 10-bit panel for the Ultra… everything just looks so smooth. It’s honestly a huge jump. a variant, providing richer colors and smoother gradients.

Privacy Display Feature

One of the most unique features in the S26 Ultra is the Privacy Display technology. Unlike traditional privacy screen protectors, this feature works at the pixel level.

Users can enable privacy settings for specific apps like social media or messaging. This means the screen content remains visible only to the user while preventing others from viewing sensitive information. This makes the phone ideal for people who value data security and privacy.

Samsung S26 Ultra specs

So the new S26 Ultra is looking pretty fast. It’s got that Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip which is basically made just for Galaxy phones… should be really smooth.

The main stuff

  • Chip: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
  • RAM: 12GB or maybe 16GB
  • Space: 256GB or 512GB… the fast kind
  • Screen: Huge 6.9-inch AMOLED, super bright (2600 nits)
  • Battery: Same as the last one, honestly
  • Charging: 60W fast charging… finally a bit faster
  • It still has wireless charging
  • And the S Pen too

Antutu Score

According to early benchmark estimates, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Antutu score is expected to cross 3.5 million points, thanks to the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. This places the device among the most powerful Android smartphones currently available.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra gaming stuff (BGMI)

Honestly, the gaming on this thing is gonna be crazy. That new Snapdragon 8 Elite chip is supposed to be way faster and stay a lot cooler, too.

Games like BGMI should run super smooth. We’re talking 120 fps or maybe even more if they update it right. it’s gonna feel really fluid…

gaming perks:

no more laggy frames even when you’ve been playing for a long time

doesn’t get as hot because the chip is just more efficient

everything loads up fast… like really fast

the graphics just look really nice and smooth

if you play a lot on your phone, this s26 ultra is basically top tier. no lag and everything just looks way better.

Samsung S26 Ultra camera stuff

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra

Samsung is still really pushing high-res photos with the S26 Ultra.

The setup looks like this…

that huge 200mp main lens

a 50mp telephoto for 5x zoom

another 50mp one

and a 10mp telephoto for 3x zoom

It still has that 100x space zoom thing… basically lets you see stuff far away with good detail, which is wild.

They bumped the main sensor up to f/1.4, too. That should make low-light shots way better. Night photos or just hanging out indoors won’t look all grainy. Honestly, it’s a big deal.

Also, there’s this new apv thing for video. It makes the files like 20% smaller but keeps the quality good. Really helpful since 4k and 8k videos just eat up storage so fast.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra OS UI

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra

It runs on One UI 8.5, which is based on Android. Samsung says they’ll do 7 years of updates now. That’s a long time… honestly, you won’t need a new phone for ages.

New AI stuff

They added a bunch of new AI features, like:

Agentic AI – gives you suggestions based on what you’re doing

Audio Eraser – gets rid of noise in your videos

Call Screening – the AI answers unknown calls for you

Photo Assist & Creative Studio – just tools for editing photos

It’s all just meant to make daily stuff a bit easier, I guess.

Some thoughts on the S26 Ultra

The S26 Ultra isn’t a huge, crazy change, but it’s definitely better. It’s just more refined. They fixed the screen, the AI, and the camera. Gaming is smooth, too. It just feels really powerful.

With the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and that Privacy Display, it’s a great choice if you want a top-tier Android.

Even if the changes feel small, all those little improvements really add up. Honestly, the S26 Ultra is still a really strong contender.
